Aceh

Aceh is a province in Indonesia which has the capital of Banda Aceh. Aceh is one of the provinces in Indonesia which is given the status of a special region and also given special autonomy authority. Aceh is located on the northern tip of the island of Sumatra and is the westernmost province in Indonesia.

It is close to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India and is separated by the Andaman Sea. Aceh is bordered by the Bay of Bengal in the north, the Indian Ocean in the west, the Malacca Strait in the east, and North Sumatra in the southeast and south.

Aceh is considered to be the place to begin the spread of Islam in Indonesia and play an important role in the spread of Islam in Southeast Asia

Aceh has abundant natural resources, including petroleum and natural gas. Some analysts estimate that Aceh's natural gas reserves are the largest in the world.

Aceh is also famous for its forests located along the Bukit Barisan range from Kutacane in Southeast Aceh to Ulu Masen in Aceh Jaya. A national park called Gunung Leuser National Park (GLNP)

The city of Banda Aceh is one of the cities in Aceh and is the capital of the Aceh Province, Indonesia.

As the center of government, Banda Aceh is the center of economic, political, social and cultural activities. Banda Aceh City is also the oldest Islamic city in Southeast Asia, where the city of Banda Aceh is the capital of the Aceh Sultanate.

Baiturrahman Grand Mosque
The mosque built by Sultan Iskandar Muda in 1612 has become an icon of Aceh. The main building of the mosque is white with a large black dome surrounded by seven towers.The magnificent impression is increasingly felt by the large pool and shower in the front of the mosque which is reminiscent of the Taj Mahal in India.

This mosque is a religious tourist spot in Aceh that is visited by many for its beauty. The Huffington Post site includes Baiturrahman Grand Mosque on the list of 100 of the most beautiful mosques in the world.

The tsunami that struck Aceh in 2004 left grief for Acehnese who survived. To commemorate and honor the dead, a Tsunami Museum was built on Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda in 2009.Inside the museum, there is a long hallway with the roar of the waves and running water that will remind you of the big disaster. Tourist attractions in Aceh are visited by many tourists who want to see what is left of the tsunami wave.

Many remaining disaster objects on display such as bicycles belonging to the victim. In addition to the remaining tsunami objects, there are photos of dead victims and survivors' testimony stories as well as electronic earthquake simulation tools.

Lhoknga Beach is not far from Lampuuk Beach. This tourist spot is about 20 km from Banda Aceh. Here, you can relax under shady trees or play beach volleyball on its wide, sloping sand.

If relaxing and sunbathing on the shore is still not fun for you, try surfing the sea. Lhoknga Beach has waves of 1.5 - 2 meters that are suitable for this sport.

It's getting late, don't go home first. Don't miss the beautiful sunset on this beach. Tourist attractions in Aceh are getting crowded in the afternoon, many come to see the sunset by sitting relaxed and enjoying roasted corn.

This one tourist spot is only 3 km from the city center of Banda Aceh, precisely in Meuraxa District.

The most popular activity on this beach is fishing. If you forget to bring a fishing pole, don't worry because someone sells it around the beach. Don't like fishing? You can also rent a fishing boat to sail on the sea or sit relaxed on the shore enjoying grilled corn. From the beach, you can see the mountain range across the road that adds to the beauty of Ulee Lheue Beach.

Sabang is a city located on Pulau Weh and is a gateway in the western tip of Indonesia. Sabang has an area of 156.3 square kilometers with the highest peak of 617 meters above sea level.

Because it is located on Weh Island many people refer to Weh Island as Sabang Island. Weh Island itself is the main and largest island separated from the mainland of Aceh by the Bengal Strait.

At present Sabang is transformed into an Indonesian marine tourism destination that offers a haven for divers. Where you can enjoy the underwater world by diving to find hundreds of species of fish and the wealth of natural coral reefs that are not planted or cultivated.

Rubiah Island is in Sabang, to the northwest of Pulau Weh. The name Rubiah itself is taken from the name written on a gravestone on the island.Tourist attractions in Aceh are famous for the beauty of the underwater world.

At least 14 of the 15 protected marine biota in Indonesia are here. Prepare your diving and snorkeling equipment and please swim with a variety of tropical fish and play colorful coral reefs. If you forget to bring a snorkel, you can rent it for only 40,000 Rupiah and you can use it all day.
